There are two forms of starting and stopping diesel generator sets:
1. Manual test run
1. Manual start of diesel generator set: First, test that the alarm system is normal. Then, switch the control switch to the manual (MAN) position, and the diesel generator set can start by itself.
2. To STOP the diesel generator set: Switch the control switch to the stop position or press the red emergency stop button to halt the generator’s operation. In an emergency, you can directly press the emergency stop button to force the machine to stop. If the red emergency stop button is pressed, it must be returned to its original position; otherwise, the generator set will not be able to start.
Ii. Automatic Switching control
1. Switch the control switch to automatic (AUTO) and use it in conjunction with the automatic power transfer switch (ATS). The control switch must also be set to the automatic position. When the mains power stops, A·T·S will send a start signal to the generator control system, and the generator will start automatically.
2. When the control switch is set to STOP (STOP), or remains in automatic mode but the mains power has been restored, the ATS will send a stop signal, and the diesel generator set will automatically stop. Note: When a diesel generator set in operation automatically shuts down due to faults (such as excessive speed, high water temperature, low oil pressure, etc.), the fault reset button must be pressed after the fault is eliminated before preparing to restart the generator set.
