Bad starting habits of diesel generators should be eradicated

Due to the uneven and inconsistent operation levels of operators, especially during the starting of diesel generators, there are many bad habits, which are manifested as follows:

1. Starting without water: After a diesel generator catches fire, adding cooling water can easily cause the body parts to heat up too quickly, accelerating wear. Adding cold water to a hot car can also easily cause the engine to crack.

2. Prolonged motor starting: If the motor starts for too long at one time, the battery will discharge at a large current for a long time, which can easily cause the plates to bend. Excessive discharge can easily cause sulfation of the plates, leading to the scrapping of the battery.

3. Voltage increase starting: To boost the motor speed, two batteries are blindly connected in series to supply power to the motor. Not only does it easily cause the motor to overspeed, generate centrifugal force, and accelerate the damage of the bearing shells, rotor and stator coils, but also because the technical conditions of the two batteries are different, charging the good battery to the bad one can easily damage the good battery.

4. Increasing capacitance for starting: By connecting two batteries in parallel to supply power to the motor, the current doubles, generating a significant amount of heat. This can easily cause damage to the starting switch, motor contacts, starting wires, rotor, and stator coils, as well as lead to a fire.

5. Traction starting: Forcing a cold vehicle to run can easily accelerate the wear of the transmission mechanism and running mechanism and cause mechanical accidents.

6. Slope start: As the diesel engine has not been preheated, the viscosity of the lubricating oil is high and the lubrication is poor, which can easily accelerate the wear of the locomotive and the seizure of the bearing shells, and is more likely to cause brake failure and lead to traffic accidents.

7. Ignition starting: When igniting, the air filter must be removed to allow external dust to directly enter the cylinder. It is prone to detonation, causing damage to the machine body. It is prone to increase carbon deposits, accelerate the wear of cylinders, pistons and piston rings, and cause a decrease in power.

8. Starting with gasoline injected into the intake pipe: This practice is extremely dangerous. Once a diesel engine catches fire, it is prone to knocking, which will increase the impact load on moving parts and damage them. It is also prone to cause runaway, carbon deposits and sudden overheating of the diesel engine.

9. Starting the car with an open flame: Using an open flame to preheat the car in winter can easily cause a fire. Burn out the circuit; Cause the oil pan to crack; High local temperature can easily cause the engine oil to deteriorate.

10. Rated throttle start: Starting with the throttle at the rated position can easily cause excessive fuel to be injected into the cylinder, resulting in overly rich mixture and making it even more difficult to start. After starting, the rotational speed increases sharply, which can easily cause damage and wear of the machine parts.

11. Starting by adding engine oil to the cylinder: When starting, injecting engine oil into the cylinder can easily form a large amount of carbon deposits, affecting the service life of the valve train and crankshaft connecting rod mechanism.

12. When the engine is turned off, slam on the accelerator to prepare for the next restart: Some operators slam on the accelerator a few times when the engine is turned off, thinking that it will be easier to start the next time. This can easily lead to fuel waste, increase economic losses, and also accelerate the wear and damage between machine parts.

 

 

 

Due to the existence of bad habits, the service life of the generator has been shortened, resulting in unnecessary losses and waste.
