For any quality of engine oil, after a certain mileage of use, some physical and chemical indicators may change, which can cause harm to the engine and lead to malfunctions. Therefore, it is necessary to change the oil regularly according to its quality based on the changes in the oil.
When adding engine oil, prevent dripping, spillage and leakage. Use professional tools. The refueling tools should be kept clean. It is better to use a filter bucket for refueling. If an oil nozzle is used, be sure that there is no dirt or soil adhering to the nozzle.
2. The oil level should be maintained between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick. It is best for the oil level to be near the upper mark, but it must not exceed it; otherwise, it may cause the engine to burn oil.
3. Check the oil level. It should be done 15 minutes after the engine is turned off, as a lot of oil still adheres to the surface of the engine parts and fails to flow back to the oil pan in time right after the engine is turned off.
4. Change the engine oil regularly based on the engine’s working time or fuel consumption. It is not advisable to change it too early to avoid wasting oil. Also, do not wait until the oil deteriorates before changing it, as this not only accelerates the wear of components but also easily burns out the bearing shells. The dirty oil should be drained when the vehicle is warm up, as this makes it easier to drain completely.
5. Try to use high-quality engine oil as much as possible. This way, the oil has good oiliness, less impurities, high quality and a long service life. For high-quality engine oils of CC and CD grades and above, their service life is more than twice as long as that of ordinary engine oils. It is essential to use engine oil of the appropriate quality grade, which is the key to ensuring the normal operation of the generator.
