When a diesel generator set is in use, it will generate a certain amount of heat by itself and has a relatively high usage frequency. The temperature in summer is relatively high. So, how to safely use a diesel generator set in summer?
The main point is to prevent the water temperature of the diesel generator set from being too high. Below, we will briefly introduce a few precautions for using diesel generator sets in summer.
1. The installation site should have good ventilation. There should be sufficient air inlets at the generator end and good air outlets at the diesel engine end. The area of the air outlet should be more than 1.5 times that of the water tank.
2. The area around the installation site should be kept clean, and items that can produce acidic, alkaline or other corrosive gases and vapors should not be placed nearby. It is necessary to configure the fire extinguishing device well.
3. When used indoors, the exhaust pipe must be led outdoors. The pipe diameter must be greater than or equal to the diameter of the exhaust pipe of the muffler. The number of elbows connected to the pipe should not exceed three to ensure smooth exhaust. The pipe should be inclined downward by 5 to 10 degrees to prevent rainwater from entering. If the exhaust pipe is installed vertically upwards, a rain cover must be added.
4. When the foundation is made of concrete, a level must be used to measure its levelness during installation to ensure that the unit is fixed on a level foundation. There should be dedicated shock-absorbing pads or anchor bolts between the unit and the foundation.
5. The casing of the unit must have reliable protective grounding. For generators that require direct grounding of the neutral point, the neutral grounding must be carried out by professionals and lightning protection devices must be configured. It is strictly prohibited to use the grounding device of the municipal power supply for direct grounding of the neutral point.
6. The bidirectional switch between the generator and the municipal power supply must be highly reliable to prevent reverse power transmission. The wiring reliability of the bidirectional switch must be inspected and approved by the local power supply department.
