Class A Maintenance
I. Daily Inspection
Check the daily operation log of the generator set.
Inspect the generator set: engine oil level and coolant level.
Daily visual inspection for damage, oil/water leaks, and loose or worn belts.
II. Weekly Inspection
Perform all daily Class A inspection items repeatedly.
Inspect the air cleaner; clean or replace the air filter element.
Drain water and sediment from the fuel tank and fuel filter.
Inspect the water filter.
Check the starting battery.
Start the generator set and verify normal operation without abnormal faults.
Clean the cooling fins at the front and rear of the radiator with compressed air and clean water.
Class B Maintenance
Complete all daily and weekly inspection items of Class A Maintenance.
Replace engine oil. (Oil replacement cycle: every 250 operating hours or 1 month, whichever comes first)
Replace the oil filter. (Oil filter replacement cycle: every 250 operating hours or 1 month, whichever comes first)
Replace the fuel filter element. (Replacement cycle: every 250 operating hours or 1 month, whichever comes first)
Replace or inspect coolant. (Water filter replacement cycle: 250–300 operating hours; top up supplemental DCA coolant in the cooling system)
Clean or replace the air cleaner. (Air filter replacement cycle: 500–600 operating hours)
Class C Maintenance
Replace the diesel filter, oil filter and water filter; replace cooling water in the water tank and engine oil.
Adjust the tension of the fan belt.
Inspect the turbocharger.
Disassemble, inspect and clean the PT fuel pump and actuator.
Remove the rocker chamber cover; inspect crossheads, valve guides, intake valves and exhaust valves.
Adjust injector lift stroke and valve clearance.
Inspect the charging alternator.
Inspect the water tank radiator and clean its external surface.
Add water tank corrosion inhibitor to the water tank and clean the tank interior.
Inspect all diesel engine sensors and connecting wiring harnesses.
Inspect the engine instrument panel.
Class D Maintenance
Replace engine oil, diesel filter, bypass filter and water filter; renew engine oil and engine circulating cooling water.
Clean or replace the air cleaner.
Remove the rocker chamber cover and inspect valve guides and crossheads.
Inspect and adjust valve clearance.
Replace upper and lower rocker chamber gaskets.
Inspect the fan and its bracket, and adjust belt tension.
Inspect the turbocharger.
Inspect the full electrical wiring of the diesel engine.
Inspect wiring of the generator excitation assembly.
Measure and inspect internal wiring connections inside the instrument panel.
Inspect the water tank and clean its exterior.
Repair or replace the water pump.
Disassemble and inspect wear of main bearing shells and connecting rod bearing shells of one cylinder.
Inspect or calibrate the working performance of the electronic governor.
Inject grease into all lubrication points of the generator set.
Remove dust from the generator excitation assembly.
Check axial and radial clearances of the turbocharger; repair promptly if clearances exceed allowable tolerances.
Clean and calibrate fuel injectors and fuel pumps.
