They are applied in locations requiring power supply from diesel generators while avoiding noise disturbance, such as schools, hospitals, cinemas, banks, hotels and special event venues. Low noise performance is achieved through noise reduction treatment targeting exhaust noise as well as air intake and outlet noise of diesel generators. An open-type diesel generator can produce noise of around 110 decibels, and even high-quality open units generate noise of no less than 95 decibels. Noise above 85 decibels poses hazards to human health. Accordingly, a diesel generator cannot be defined as silent if its noise level exceeds 85 decibels, and effective noise reduction must bring the noise value below this threshold.
In recent years, diesel generator technology has advanced rapidly and become mature in all aspects, including noise control technology for diesel generator sets. Various noise reduction solutions for generator sets have been continuously optimized, with the sole objective of lowering operational noise. For experienced generator manufacturers, a noise level of 65 dB measured at 1 meter is achievable. The mainstream standard reached by most manufacturers is 75 dB at 1 meter. Developing silent diesel generators with noise output below 65 decibels remains our shared development goal.
