How To Store And Keep The Diesel Generator Set?

With the popularity of diesel generator sets, if they are in use, improper storage and storage methods of diesel generator sets can easily cause corrosion and damage to the engine and generator parts. Therefore, in order to avoid the occurrence of the above situation, the storage and custody of the diesel generator set should be done according to the length of the downtime.

1. Storage and custody when not in use for a short time

        (1). Drain the fuel

(2). Store indoors, covered with cloth. Don’t put it in a humid place. Do not put together with flammable, explosive or corrosive materials. Rotate the crankshaft regularly

(3). Turn the engine piston to compression top dead center

2. Storage and custody when not in use for a long time

(1). Drain the oil in the mechanical filter and air filter

(2). The crankshaft is cranked once or twice a month, and the piston is at compression top dead center after each cranking

(3). Inject 100~200g of oil into each cylinder from the exhaust manifold, rotate the crankshaft dozens of times to make the oil evenly distributed in the cylinder, and the piston is at compression top dead center

(4). Clean the metal surfaces of the diesel engine, generator, coupling port, chassis and all generator parts, tools and accessories with detergent, and apply grease if necessary

(5). Remove the valve cover and lubricate the valve structure with dehydrated oil

(6). Clean up the dirt on the surface of the unit, blow the inside of the unit with compressed air, fill the generator with desiccant, cover the end of the generator with thick paper, cover all vents, and fix it with ropes

        (7) The exhaust port, air filter, fuel tank vent, and exhaust port of the low-temperature starting device are sealed with greased paper
