Before operation, the diesel generator set shall be installed and connected. The following precautions shall be observed during installation:
The installation site shall be well ventilated. Sufficient air intake shall be reserved at the generator end and proper air outlet at the diesel engine end. The outlet area shall be more than 1.5 times the area of the water tank.
Keep the surrounding area clean. Do not place articles emitting corrosive gas or vapor such as acid and alkali nearby. Fire extinguishing equipment is recommended if conditions permit.
For indoor installation, the exhaust pipe must lead outdoors. The pipe diameter shall not be smaller than that of the silencer outlet. The number of pipe elbows shall not exceed three to ensure smooth exhaust. Tilt the pipe downward by 5 to 10 degrees to prevent rainwater inflow. A rain shield must be fitted if the exhaust pipe is installed vertically upward.
For concrete foundation, check the levelness with a level gauge and fix the set on a horizontal base. Special shockproof pads or anchor bolts shall be installed between the unit and foundation.
The unit shell must be reliably earthed. Generators requiring direct neutral grounding shall be grounded by professionals with lightning protection devices equipped. It is forbidden to use the municipal power grounding system for neutral grounding.
The bidirectional switch between generator and municipal power supply shall be highly reliable to prevent reverse power transmission. Its wiring safety must be inspected and approved by local power authorities.
The connecting wires of the starting battery shall be firmly fastened.
IV. Unit Accessories
Apart from standard accessories supplied by the manufacturer, optional parts include fuel tank, mains charger and fuel delivery pipe. Proper selection of accessories is essential.
The fuel tank capacity shall support full-load continuous operation for over 8 hours. Refueling during operation is discouraged.
Use a dedicated float charger to keep the battery ready for startup.
Adopt anti-rust, anti-freeze and anti-boil coolant.
Only diesel engine oil of grade CD or above is allowed.
