The installation site shall be well ventilated. Sufficient air intake openings shall be provided at the generator end, and proper air outlets shall be arranged at the diesel engine end. The cross-sectional area of the air outlet shall be at least 1.5 times that of the water tank.
The surrounding area of the installation site shall be kept clean. Articles generating corrosive gas, vapor such as acid and alkali shall not be placed nearby. Fire extinguishing equipment shall be equipped if conditions permit.
For indoor installation, the exhaust pipe must be routed outdoors. The pipe diameter shall not be smaller than the outlet pipe diameter of the muffler. The number of elbows on the connected pipeline shall not exceed three to ensure smooth exhaust. The pipe shall slope downward by 5–10 degrees to prevent rainwater inflow. If the exhaust pipe is installed vertically upward, a rain shield must be fitted.
If a concrete foundation is adopted, its levelness shall be measured with a spirit level during installation to fix the unit on a horizontal base. Special anti-vibration pads or anchor bolts shall be installed between the unit and the foundation.
The unit shell shall be provided with reliable protective earthing. For generators requiring direct neutral earthing, the neutral earthing work must be carried out by professional personnel, and lightning protection devices shall be installed. It is strictly prohibited to use the earthing device of municipal power supply for direct neutral earthing.
The double-throw switch between the generator and municipal power supply shall be independent and separated.
