Precautions Before Starting The Diesel Generator Set

1. Before starting the generator, you must carefully check whether the wiring of each part is correct, whether the connecting parts are secure, whether the brushes are normal, whether the pressure meets the requirements, and whether the grounding wire is good.

2. The generators to be operated in parallel must have entered normal and stable operation.

3. After receiving the signal of “ready to connect in parallel”, adjust the speed of the diesel engine based on the entire device, and close at the instant of synchronization.

4. The generators running in parallel should reasonably adjust the load and distribute the active and reactive power of each generator in a balanced manner. Active power is adjusted by the diesel engine throttle, and reactive power is adjusted by excitation.

5. The generator in operation should pay close attention to the sound of the engine and observe whether the various instrument indications are within the normal range. Check whether the running part is normal and whether the temperature rise of the generator is too high. And make a running record.

6. When stopping, first reduce the load, restore the excitation rheostat to reduce the voltage to the minimum value, then turn off the switches in order, and finally stop the diesel engine.

7. If a diesel engine running in parallel needs to be stopped due to a load drop, all the load of a generator that needs to be stopped should be transferred to the generator that continues to run, and then the single generator should be stopped. If you need to stop all the loads, cut off the load first, and then handle as a single generator shutdown.

8. For mobile generators, the chassis must be parked on a stable foundation before use, and must not be moved during operation.

9. When the generator is running, it should be considered to have voltage even if it is not excited. It is forbidden to work on the rotating generator lead-out line, touch the rotor by hand or perform cleaning. The generator in operation must not be covered with canvas or the like.

10. After the generator is overhauled, it is necessary to carefully check whether there are tools, materials and other sundries between the rotor and the stator slot, so as not to damage the generator during operation.

11. All electrical equipment in the equipment room must be reliably grounded.

12. It is forbidden to stack sundries and flammable and explosive items in the equipment room. Except for the staff on duty, other persons are prohibited from entering without permission.

13. Necessary fire-fighting equipment should be provided in the room. When a fire accident occurs, the power supply should be stopped immediately, the generator should be turned off, and a carbon dioxide or carbon tetrachloride fire extinguisher should be used to extinguish it.
