Conditions for Diesel Engine Major Overhaul
Obvious power drop. When the accelerator is set to the rated position, the actual output power of the diesel engine is only about 60% of the rated power, failing to drive the matched load normally. The power still cannot be restored after maintenance and adjustment of the fuel system, valve train, crankshaft connecting rod mechanism and other related components.
Sharp increase in fuel consumption. Fuel consumption exceeds the rated standard by 30% to 50% or more; engine oil consumption is more than twice the rated value. Engine oil is discharged with exhaust gas, oily mist smoke emits from the crankcase vent or oil filler port, and the internal temperature of the crankcase rises remarkably.
Severe wear of cylinder liner, piston and other parts. The wear limits of cylinder liner, piston, crankshaft journals and valve train parts are all exceeded, resulting in poor cylinder tightness and reduced cylinder pressure.
Difficult starting and abnormal knocking noises. The engine fails to start smoothly when the cooling water temperature is between 50℃ and 60℃ after shutdown. When the operating temperature reaches 70℃ to 90℃, abnormal knocking sounds occur inside the cylinder from pistons, piston pins, main bearings or connecting rod bearings.
