Tips For Buying 300kw Generator Set

What should we pay attention to when buying a 300kw generator set, let’s take a look at it together.

    1. The power of the generator set is the same as that of the generator, that is, a small horse pulls a big car. In fact, the industry generally stipulates that the mechanical loss of diesel engine power is greater than or equal to 10% of generator power. What’s more serious is that some people misreport the horsepower of the diesel engine as kilowatts, and use a diesel engine with a power lower than the generator to configure the unit, commonly known as a “small horse-drawn cart”, which shortens the service life of the unit, frequent maintenance, and higher operating costs.

   2. Don’t talk about random accessories. If there is no muffler, oil tank, oil pipeline, what level of battery, how much capacity, how many batteries, etc. In fact, these attachments are more important and need to be stated in the contract. Moreover, there is no fan for the water tank, and the user can open the water tank by himself.

   3. Only report the brand of diesel engine or generator, not the place of production and the brand of unit. For example, the 300kw generator set in the United States, Volvo in Sweden and Stanford in the United Kingdom. In fact, it is impossible for a single company to complete any generator set. The user should have a better understanding of the manufacturers and brands of the diesel engine, generator, and control cabinet of the unit in order to make a comprehensive evaluation of the grade of the unit.

    4. Don’t talk about after-sales service, just talk about price and delivery time. Some generator sets also use non-power station diesel engines, such as marine diesel engines and automotive diesel engines. Therefore, the quality (voltage and frequency) of the terminal products of the unit cannot be guaranteed. Units with too low prices generally have problems, commonly known as: just buy the wrong one, not sell the wrong one!

    5. Units without protection functions (commonly known as four protections) are sold to customers as units with complete protection functions. More importantly, we sold the 300kw generator set without air switch and incomplete equipment to customers. In fact, the industry generally stipulates that units above 10kW need to be equipped with a full set of instruments (commonly known as five meters) and air switches; large-scale units and automated units need to have self-protection functions.

    6. Don’t talk about the relationship between the long-distance (rated) power supply and the backup power supply, just say a “power supply”, and sell the backup power supply to customers as a long-term power supply. In fact, standby power = 1.1 x long-line power. Moreover, in 12 hours of continuous operation, the backup power supply can only be used for 1 hour.
