The engines of tractors and agricultural transport vehicles are all equipped with an air filter, an oil filter and a diesel filter, commonly known as the “three filters”. The working condition of the three filters directly affects the operating performance and service life of the engine. At present, quite a number of operators fail to maintain and service the three filters in accordance with the time and specifications required in the instruction manual, resulting in frequent engine faults and premature entry into the maintenance and repair period.
1. Key Maintenance Points of Air Filter
In addition to strictly maintaining the air filter in line with the specified time and operating requirements in the user manual, the following points should also be noted:
(1) The guide grille of the air filter shall be kept free of deformation and corrosion, with an inclination angle of 30～45°. An excessively small angle will increase air resistance and affect air intake; an excessively large angle will weaken the rotation of airflow and reduce the dust separation capacity. No paint peeling is allowed on the blade surface to prevent oxidized particles from entering the cylinder. The dust discharge outlet shall be oriented to ensure smooth dust removal.
(2) Clear the mesh holes of the ventilation screen during maintenance. For filters equipped with a dust collection cup, the dust level shall not exceed 1/3 of the cup height; otherwise, the dust shall be removed in a timely manner. The sealing of the dust collection cup mouth shall be tight, and the rubber sealing strip shall not be damaged or lost.
(3) The oil level of the fine filter shall comply with standard regulations. An excessively high oil level will cause engine oil to enter the cylinder and form carbon deposits; an excessively low oil level will reduce the filtering effect and accelerate component wear.
(4) If the metal wire mesh in the fine filter is replaced with a substitute material, the mesh aperture or metal wire diameter can only be slightly smaller (not larger), and the filling quantity shall not be reduced; otherwise, the filtering efficiency will be lowered.
(5) The air intake pipeline must be free of air leakage. Oil replacement and cleaning shall be carried out in a windless and dust-free environment. Use high-pressure air to blow the filter screen under low humidity conditions, and blow in the opposite direction of air intake. During installation, the fold directions of adjacent filter screens shall be arranged crosswise.
2. Key Maintenance Points of Oil Filter
The oil filter must be maintained at specified intervals, with special attention to the following points:

Special attention shall be paid to the installation after disassembly and cleaning of the centrifugal fine filter:
① No jamming is allowed. Inspection method: After reinstalling the rotor, rotate it forcefully by hand; a qualified installation means the rotor can rotate freely for 2 to 3 times before stopping on its own.
② Another inspection method: Install the fine filter on the vehicle, start the engine and run it at rated speed for several minutes. Shut down the engine when the oil temperature reaches 70℃. If the rotor can still be heard rotating continuously outside the shell for more than 1.5 minutes, the installation is qualified. Failure to meet the above standards indicates improper installation, which requires reassembly.
