What can be done to prevent diesel generating units from overheating in the summer, especially if the temperature of the water cooled diesel generating unit is too high, so how can we ensure that the temperature of the generating unit is not too high? The following will give you some reference.
(1) Proper use of closed cooling system Most modern diesel engines have closed cooling system, radiator cap is sealed, and an expansion box is added. When the engine is working, the coolant steam expands into the water tank and flows back to the radiator after cooling, which can prevent a large amount of evaporation loss of the coolant and increase the boiling point temperature of the coolant. The cooling system shall use a high quality coolant that is resistant to corrosion, boiling, freezing and scaling, and must be sealed in use to receive results.
(2) Keeping the cooling system clean inside and outside is one of the important conditions to improve the efficiency of heat dissipation. When the radiator is covered by dirt and oil or the radiator is deformed due to collision, it will affect the passage of wind, and the heat dissipation of the radiator effect will become worse, resulting in high temperature of the coolant. Therefore, it is found that the radiator of the generator set should be cleaned or repaired in time. In addition, when there is scale, mud or oil in the cooling water tank of the generator set, the heat transfer of the coolant will be affected. Adding inferior coolant or water will lead to increased scaling in the cooling system. The heat transfer capacity of scale is only a few tenths of that of metal, so the cooling effect becomes worse. Therefore, the cooling system should be filled with high quality coolant.
(3) Keep enough coolant. When the engine is cooled, the coolant level shall be located between the highest and lowest marks of the expansion tank. If the coolant level is lower than the lowest mark of the expansion tank, it should be added in time. Please note that the coolant in the expansion tank cannot be filled and there should be room for expansion.
(4) Keep the fan belt tension moderately loose, so that the pump speed is too low, which will affect the circulation of coolant and accelerate belt wear. However, if the tape is too tight, the bearings of the pump will wear. In addition, the tape must not be stained with oil. Therefore, the tensioning force of fan tape should be checked and adjusted regularly.
(5) Avoid the diesel generator set working under heavy load. If the engine is under heavy load for a long time, the coolant temperature will be too high.
(6) Pay attention to the good ventilation of the machine room, especially the exhaust and smoke exhaust of the water tank. The floor is clean and tidy, free of oil and dust.
