What Is The Function Of The Diesel Generator Circuit Breaker? What Should I Do If The Circuit Breaker Cannot Be Closed?

Diesel generator set circuit breaker is a switch device that can close, carry and disconnect current under normal circuit conditions, and close the circuit breaker within a specified time, and conduct current conduction and disconnection under abnormal circuit conditions . Circuit breakers can be used for power distribution, diesel motors that are not frequently started, and protection of power lines and motors. When serious overload, short circuit, undervoltage and other faults occur, the circuit can be automatically cut off. Its function is equivalent to the combination of fuse switch and overheating relay. And usually there is no need to change components after disconnecting the fault current. In addition, the circuit breaker of the diesel generator set also needs to have the following functions:

1. The circuit breaker should be able to work reliably for a long time under rated conditions.

2. Should have sufficient short-circuit capacity. Because the grid voltage is relatively reliable and the current is relatively large, when the circuit breaker opens the circuit, a strong arc is generated between the contacts. The circuit can only be opened after the arc is completely extinguished. Therefore, the circuit breaker is required to have sufficient short-circuit capability, especially In the event of a short-circuit fault, it should be able to reliably cut off the short-circuit current and ensure sufficient thermal and dynamic stability.

3. Have the shortest possible start time. When a short-circuit fault occurs in the power grid, the circuit breaker is required to quickly cut off the faulty circuit, which can shorten the fault time of the power grid and reduce the short-circuit current damage to the short-term equipment.

When we use diesel generators, there will be a problem that the circuit breaker cannot be closed. How can we solve it at this time?

First, you can use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two screws fixing the circuit breaker. Then take the red wire behind the circuit breaker and use a cross screwdriver to remove the wiring, take the circuit breaker out, pat lightly on the table to ensure that it is not damaged, and then try to see if the circuit breaker can be closed! If you can close it, it’s fine, if you can’t close it, just keep flapping! After the circuit breaker is beaten normally, install it correctly to ensure stable installation. Then buckle the generator circuit protection board, and then tighten all the screws on the front panel!
