Pay Attention To The Summer Maintenance Of Diesel Generators!

It is the arrival of another summer. The maintenance and cleaning of Cummins diesel generators are very important. Good maintenance is the best way to extend the life of the unit. The reason for the damage to the parts of Cummins diesel generators is the product quality. In addition to the problem, it may also be caused by improper use during maintenance and cleaning. This is a small skill on how to maintain and clean the unit.

The maintenance of the generator must be carried out in the state of shutdown. In order to ensure that the generator will not start by mistake, when cleaning, we should first remove the battery load cable for the start of the generator set. The inside and outside of the generator should be cleaned regularly. The frequency of cleaning depends on the environment where the unit is located. Before cleaning, disconnect all power sources and wipe off all dust, dirt, oil, water or any liquid from the unit. The ventilation net should also be cleaned. If the dust enters the coil accidentally, it will cause the coil to overheat or damage the insulation. Therefore, it is best to use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and dirt. Do not use air blowing or high-pressure water spray to clean. In order to avoid power generation The regain of moisture in the unit causes the insulation resistance to decrease, and the generator must be dried.

What problems are prone to occur when diesel generators are running?

        1. There is air or water in the fuel system (exclusion method: check and eliminate [change fuel]);

        2. The air filter is blocked (removal method: replace the three filters regularly);

        3. Too much lubricating oil or wrong grade of lubricating oil (exclusion method: check the lubricating oil level or replace the lubricating oil and filter to ensure that the correct type of lubricating oil is used);

        4. The intake air temperature of the diesel generator is too high (exclusion method: the intake air temperature should not be higher than 40°C);

        5. The exhaust pipe is blocked [or the back pressure is too high] (removal method: reduce the back pressure to make the engine exhaust unobstructed);

        6. Failure of the fuel injection pump system (removal method: please authorized personnel to overhaul);

        7. Incorrect valve clearance (exclusion method: check and adjust valve clearance);

        8. The cooling fan is damaged (exclusion method: check and repair, replace if necessary);
