Introduction to common causes of increased oil flow resistance of generator sets?

The oil viscosity of the generator set is too high: the oil viscosity of the generator set represents the internal friction resistance when the oil flows. Oil viscosity is related to engine temperature. When the engine temperature is low, the viscosity of the oil is high; on the contrary, the viscosity of the oil is small. When the oil viscosity is high, the fluidity is poor, but the sealing performance is good and the leakage is small. If the oil viscosity exceeds the specified value, the flow resistance of the oil in the lubrication system will increase and the pressure will increase. It can be seen that when the engine temperature is low or the oil viscosity is high (due to the improper selection of the oil grade, that is, the oil grade is not suitable for the ambient temperature, such as choosing high viscosity oil in winter and summer), the oil pressure will be high. The clearance of the pressure lubrication part of the generator set is too small or the secondary oil filter is blocked: It can be seen from the lubricating oil circuit that the flow resistance of the oil circulation circuit of the lubrication system is equal to the reciprocal sum of the oil flow resistance of the parallel branch. The cam journals, connecting rod journals, crankshaft journals, rocker shafts, etc. in the pressure lubricated parts, if the fitting clearance of these lubricated parts is too small, the filter element of the fine filter is too dirty, causing the oil circuit to be blocked and the pressure limiting valve. If the adjustment pressure is too high, the flow resistance of the oil circuit of the lubrication system will increase, and the pressure will increase. Improper adjustment of the pressure limiting valve of the generator set: the pressure limiting valve limits the oil pressure through the balance spring and the ball valve (or cone valve), so that the oil pressure does not exceed the value specified in the technical documents. When the oil pressure exceeds a specified value, the valve will be pushed open to relieve the pressure in the system against the spring force. When the oil pressure is lower than the spring force, the valve is closed under the action of the spring, limiting the pressure within the specified range. Therefore, the oil pressure of the lubrication system depends on the spring force. If the adjusted spring force is too high, the oil pressure in the system will be too high.
