Introduction To Incorrect Operation Method Of 300kw Generator Set

The generator set is a power equipment that uses a diesel engine as the prime mover to drive a synchronous generator to generate electricity. This is a power generation device with fast start-up, convenient operation and maintenance, low investment, and strong environmental adaptability. At present, the application of generators is becoming wider and wider, and many faults will be encountered during use and operation.

The following are several wrong operation methods of 300kw generator set:

1) Load operation without preheating after cold start

During cold start, due to high oil viscosity and poor fluidity, insufficient oil supply from the oil pump, the friction surface of the machine is poorly lubricated due to lack of oil, causing severe wear and even failures such as cylinder pulling and tile burning. Therefore, after the diesel engine starts to cool down, it should be preheated at idle speed. When the oil temperature reaches above 40°C, it can be operated with load. When the machine is started, the low gear should be engaged, and each gear should be driven for a certain mileage in sequence until the oil temperature is normal and the fuel supply is sufficient.

2) 300kw generator set runs when the oil is insufficient

At this time, due to insufficient oil supply on the surface of each friction pair, insufficient oil supply on the surface of each friction pair will result in abnormal wear. Therefore, before starting the machine and during the operation of the diesel engine, it is necessary to maintain sufficient engine oil to prevent the bow frame from pulling cylinders and burning tiles due to insufficient oil.

3) The load is stopped in an emergency or the machine is stopped after the load is suddenly removed

After the 300kw generator set is turned off, the circulating water of the cooling system stops, the heat dissipation capacity decreases, and the heated parts lose cooling. It is easy to cause the cylinder head, cylinder liner, cylinder block and other parts to overheat, causing cracks, or excessive expansion of the piston stuck in the cylinder liner. On the other hand, if the diesel engine is stopped without idling and cooling, the amount of oil on the friction surface will be insufficient. When the diesel engine starts again, poor lubrication will aggravate wear. Therefore, the diesel engine should be unloaded before stalling, and the speed should be gradually reduced, and run for a few minutes without load.
