Why are diesel engines installed with governor?

The fuel supply of diesel fuel injection pump depends on the speed of diesel engine. The crankshaft speed increases, so does the oil supply. On the contrary, the amount of oil supplied decreases.

Diesel engine load changes, the speed changes greatly. To be specific:

When the load is reduced, the speed increases, which leads to an increase in the circulating oil supply of the plunger pump, which in turn leads to a further increase in the rotational speed. In this vicious cycle, the engine speed becomes higher and higher, and finally the speed is driven fast.

On the contrary, when the load increases, the speed decreases, the speed decreases, the piston pump circulation oil supply decreases, the circulation oil supply increases, and the speed decreases further, resulting in lower and lower engine speed, and finally flout;

To change this vicious cycle, we need a system that can automatically adjust the fuel supply according to load changes. An automatic control mechanism that allows a diesel engine to operate stably within a specified speed range. The fuel supply can be changed by moving the fuel supply pull rod, so that the rotational speed of the diesel engine is basically unchanged. Therefore, diesel engine to meet the requirements of use, it must be installed governor.
