How To Increase The Power Of Generator When The Power Of The Generator Set Is Reduced

In order to ensure that the diesel generator sets meet various technical indicators, the diesel engine and the generator must be well matched in the design and manufacture of the unit. It includes both power and speed. The power of the diesel engine refers to the effective power that the diesel engine can achieve under normal operation for 12 hours at the rated speed. The power of the synchronous generator refers to the rated electric power obtained at the output terminal during long-term continuous operation at the rated speed. In the daily use of diesel generator sets, the diesel engine generally has power loss, and the power factor of the generator set will also drop to 0.8. How can we use it to improve the power factor of the diesel generator set:

(1) Improve the quality of maintenance of asynchronous motors;

(2) Reasonable use of the motor;

(3) Using synchronous motor: The active power consumed by the synchronous motor depends on the mechanical load on the motor, and the reactive power depends on the magnitude of the excitation current in the rotor. In the under-excited state, the stator winding “sucks” to the grid. Reactive, in the overexcited state, the stator windings “send” reactive power to the grid. Therefore, a synchronous motor can be used as a power for large-scale mechanism equipment that operates at a constant speed for a long period of time.

(4) Reasonable selection of distribution capacity and improvement of operation mode of distribution transformer: For the distribution with low load rate, generally adopt the methods of “extract, change, merge, stop” to increase the load rate to the optimal value. Improve the natural power factor of the grid.
